Seattle Base USSVI Meeting Minutes June 21, 2006 1900 Meeting called to order by Base Commander Karl “Dutch” Krompholz. The Pledge was recited by all. . Invocation given by Mike Bennett. Ric Hedman read the lost boats for June. Chief of the Boat, Ted Taylor was bell ringer. Motion made to suspend reading of the last meeting minutes because posted on web page. Motion seconded and accepted by membership. Treasurer gave a financial report. Motion made and seconded to accept. Approved Secretary reported bringing WWII 2007 Submarine calendars for the Store Keeper and provided brief run down of the Memorial Day events at the Tahoma National Cemetery.. Pat Householder brought up that for $25.00 three yearly subscriptions of our national magazine is available as donations to schools, liberties, and submarines as we have done for the SSBN Henry Jackson. A motion was made, seconded and approved to annually renew the Jackson subscription without further approval until the boat is decommissioned. Don Masoero gave an update on the Kirkland August 5th Tolling which will start at 2 o’clock and mentioned that the Navy Band from Bangor is now part of the program which requires coming up with transportation and missed meals money for the Band. He has obtained some meal donations from the local restaurants and is working to solve both funding requests. Entered a round of introductions by members giving name, city, and qual boat. Old business: Raffle brochures available for pickup, tickets on sale.. Smokey Point North Rest Stop set for 14th and 15th August. New Business: Jim Harper made a commitment to tow the Bonefish trailer in the Sedro-Woolley 4th of July Parade.everyone was encouraged to participate.
